Packaging design for Organic Farm Food’s cocoa powder range, created to reposition a chocolate substitute through a bold, contemporary visual identity. Clean typography, restrained illustration, and a premium black palette work together to create strong shelf visibility while communicating quality, intensity, and confidence.
Project Overview
The objective was to develop packaging for a cocoa powder product that would clearly distinguish itself from conventional sweet chocolate mixes.
Rather than relying on playful colors or nostalgic imagery, the design embraces a refined visual language built around contrast, readability, and premium positioning. The system was also developed to adapt easily across multiple package sizes and retail formats.
Inspiration & Concept
The concept was inspired by the cocoa bean itself.
Instead of treating the cocoa pod as a decorative illustration, it becomes a subtle framing element that supports rather than competes with the typography. The generous use of black creates depth and sophistication, while warm copper tones echo the richness of cocoa and reinforce the premium character of the product.
The result is packaging that feels modern, focused, and unmistakably different within its category.
Design Solution
The packaging combines bold typography, restrained illustration, and a modular layout to create a flexible visual system across multiple product formats.
The oversized product name ensures immediate shelf recognition, while the cocoa pod illustration introduces texture and brand character without overwhelming the composition. The visual language extends naturally from stand-up pouches to single-serve sachets and retail display units, maintaining consistency throughout the product family.
The final design demonstrates how simplicity and strong visual hierarchy can transform an everyday product into a premium retail experience.
