Project Overview:

This project involved designing the packaging for a private-label Extra Virgin Olive Oil, created for a gourmet shop based in the USA. Specializing in high-quality olive oils and balsamic vinegars sourced from both the northern and southern hemispheres, the shop wanted to introduce their first private label olive oil. The goal was to design a modern, premium package that would stand out on the shelves and attract attention, while reflecting the exceptional quality and health benefits of the product.

Inspiration & Concept:

The design was inspired by travels through Greece, where the client sourced their olive oil, and the evolution of olive oil branding over time. The intention was to create a label that feels artistic and connected to the origins of the product, evoking the natural and organic essence of olive oil. The hand-drawn olive illustration symbolizes the product’s authenticity and connection to the earth, with stylized lines referencing the olive trees themselves. The design aims to balance tradition and modernity, ensuring a fresh, standout appearance in a competitive market.

Design Approach:

The design approach features a green metallic sleeve that covers the entire bottle, creating an elegant and premium look. The hand-drawn olive illustration emphasizes the organic nature of the product with a rough, artistic style, evoking the natural textures of olive trees. The design is minimalistic and sleek, offering a refreshing update to traditional olive oil packaging. A transparent line on the back of the bottle allows consumers to see when the oil is nearing the last 100ml. Additionally, a smaller sachet packaging option was proposed for convenience, making it easy to take the olive oil on the go, whether for work meals, picnics, or travel.
